June

For the first time in years, I have stopped updating for more than a month. Well, it's not something to shout about, but that shows I at least have a little life 'offline.' I will promise myself to update and jot what's going on in my life for times of fond memories reminiscence or even dwell in the future.

At the time being, I'm trying my best to create some photo collages that I have captured during the month of May, and hopefully, *fingers crossed* update it here by the end of this week =)

Homemade Tortilla Wrap

Was in the mood for making my own lunch again today. Open the fridge and see what can I make out of the food in there... So, I came up with the idea of making tortilla wrap!

Ingredients:
- a pack of tortilla wrap
- fish nuggets / tempura fish
- crab sticks
- capsicum & tomato strips
- cheese
- ketchup, barbecue / sweet & sours / chilli sauce
- butterhead or lettuce (so sad there is none left in the fridge today)

Fish nuggets, fish tempura, and crab sticks.  Normally people would say tortilla wrap is a very healthy meal, but today is an exception for me. Coz I DEEP FRIED all of the above! hahaha... Too lazy to marinade and grill chicken.

Oh don't get me wrong, I did not actually make the flat Mexican bread from scratch though. Not so hebat yet hahahaha. Bought it from the supermarket and just heat them up on a flat pan only. ^^

Sliced tomatoes & capsicum with cheese and few packs of free sauce from McDonalds

Now, wrapping time!

Spread the sauce on the tortilla first. I chose barbecue with a little bit of mayonnaise for this.

Arrange all the fried stuff, garnish and cheese so that it is easy to wrap.

Wrap it to be something like this. Put in it the oven to heat for about 3 to 5 minutes and voila, my tortilla wrap is ready!

Salivate! My simple and yummilicious lunch.

Homemade Sausage Spaghetti Bolognese

I was so inspired to try this out when I first saw the pic from 9gag the other day. So, last weekend when I was feeling so bored sitting at home, coincidentally my house kitchen has all the ingredients I need for making this pasta. =)

The ingredients needed:
- a can of tomato puree for the spaghetti sauce
- two or three more fresh tomatoes (to be diced later)
- a pack of sausages
- a small bowl of minced chicken
- spaghetti (but I used angel hair for this 'experiment)
- onion, olive oil, sea-salt, ground black & white pepper, sugar

Step 1 - The Sauce: Cook the sauce by heating some olive oil and finely chopped onions into the saucepan. Next, add in the minced chicken and stir fry them. Then, chuck in all the diced tomatoes and let it boil for about 5 minutes before pouring the tomato puree. Add some ground pepper and sugar according to one's preference.

Step 2 - The Pasta: Cut the sausages into few parts (I cut 5 parts from 1 sausage.) Break the spaghetti into half and poke them through the sausages. This would take quite some time though.

Chuck them into boiling water and add a few drops of olive oil and sea salt thereafter. Boil it until the noodles are soft and carefully take them out and drain all the water away. Run the pasta through some filtered cold water for a while before placing them on plates. Then, put the sauce on the spaghetti and it's good to go already! ^^

Tada, lunch for the family is ready to be served!

My simple sausage spaghetti before putting them into my mouth! hahaha.. Try it yourself, it's fun!... Kids will especially lurve them...

Cars collection

Just a short one today...

Let me introduce my youngest nephew to you... He adores/ loves/ is a super duper HUGE fan of all moving automobiles on the road (minus locally made ones).. and he's only 5.

This is little Weiwei (his name is ShiWei) sorting out his toy cars into two parts, namely the one he still want to keep, and another part is to give away... Those that were chucked into this bag are unwanted ones already i.e. the ones with tyre, door defects, etc.

I came up with this stupid idea of arranging all his toy cars for shooting during the weekend and not even half way through, I gave up already! I can assure that his vast collection of cars is way more expensive than my Leehom collection over the past decade lor... hahahaha...

After arranging these cars (which I am positive are not even half of his collection), I decided that it's time to drop the silly idea and take a few shots of him and subsequently shutting down my idea indefinitely.

We'll see a year or two from now, where would all these cars be, eh?

Ipoh makan-makan trip

Saturday. 7th April 2012. Ipoh with Homies.

Our short makan-makan expedition begin....

Depart from Wangsa with Kyrina being the driver, and PF as her co-pilot.

Reached Ipoh... and our first stop was none other than my favourite 大树脚 yongtaufu!

yummy yum yum.... We didn't ordered much coz our purpose for the day was to have a little bit of everything (if possible!) hahaha...

Second stop, Funny Mountain soya bean & tau fu fah... slurp slurp... It's a 'drive-thru' soya stall yo! The man will just come over to our car and ask for our order, two minutes later, we can conveniently enjoy the yummy soya bean in the comfort of ones automobile. I had a bowl of mixed soyabean+taufufah and it only cost 90cents!!

Sin Eng Heong being our third stop. The place is always packed with tourists queuing to buy their famous kaya puff! So, we just went in and reserve several boxes to be brought back to KL the next day. The lady working in the shop is not very friendly though.

Next, would be the original Oldtown Kopitiam! All of us ordered their specialty oldtown white-coffee except for Chloe, and also two portions of kaya butter toast to be shared among 5 of us. hehe... The satisfaction of gulping down this icey cold coffee on a super hot day is just awesome!

We were very full after our 'tea time' and headed to Kellies Castle for a visit! Spent a good two hours at the ruins of the 'castle' dunno doing what, not to mention with the scorching sun burning onto our skin. These ladies (including myself) really damn can... hahahah

Whats next? More local food of course! ^^

Ipoh famous sar hor fun, with beansprouts and Hainanese white chicken for dinner.

After dinner, we went to the newly opened Jusco for some window shopping. Too crowded, coz it was after all, a weekend where everyone will have nothing much to do besides loitering in malls enjoying the air cond! hahahah... We decided to get of from the place and go 'tapao' somemore good stuff at Pasir Pinji. No pics for this one.

and to this place....

Snow Beer, which was really quite overrated. It's basically normal beer that was really chilled, poured into a very cold mug, and voila... it became Snow Beer already! Nothing to shout about on this, just it's also good to be drank on a warm Malaysian night.

There we go, last stop for the night before we crashed at KC's place.

Weekend with my darlings...

Enjoyed my weekend with my dearies from high school at Port Dickson. This is actually our first trip together (7 of us) in God-knows how many years (10, maybe?).

We did not go to near to the beach for a swim or even a walk though. Just relaxing in our hotel room which have quite a few facilities that are enough for us already. We had breakfast in Klang before departing to PD, then lunch in Lukut, and laze all the way til Sunday noon in Grand Lexis, where we booked a night there. ^^

I really appreciate the time all of us can actually sit together in a room and hang out like we used to during high school times.... Hope there'll be more short trips like this for us in the future!

Year 2012: Q1

It's the last day of the first quarter of 2012 already!! By thinking about it, time fliesssss again during the first 3 months of the year.

What have I achieved this so far? Well, I am sad to say, nothing great basically. Career wise, to be frankly, it sucked, earning peanut income while all my friends are so far ahead of me. Life wise, not so bad... Good friends and family are always there for me when I needed them. Other factors in life, don't dare to think about it at the moment. hhmmm....

One big chunk of my time are spent on entertainment. Be it from buying movies and song albums or even attending concerts and local events. I really enjoy all these even though 95% of my friends disagree with errr, can I classify this as a hobby? So far, I've already met two out of three of my favourite Asian artists already! hehehe... It's none other than the ever so good looking Leehom Wang, and forever young looking Daniel Lee! ^^

I seriously need to cut down on all these 'unnecessary' money spending entertainment soon. I don't know when, but I'll try to cut down la... *fingers crossed*

9 more months to go til my birthday... Can I start countdown now? hiak hiak hiak... Anyway, I am not quite sure what this entry is all about. Just feel like updating a few words here to remind myself that the first 3 months of the year has came and gone (almost).

don't know what to blab anymore. So will just stop here.

til then, ttfn! ^^

Daniel Lee album promo weekend

Had an awesome weekend meeting one of my fav local artist, Daniel Lee! It has been such a long time where I attend any of his event due to my absence in the country while studying abroad.

He was too kind to let me take few self-shot pic of myself and him with my iPhone wide angle lens... muahahaha...

24th March @ Ikano Power Centre

The crowd at IPC was fairly small and we had a lil chat on stage after he signed my CDs. The next day's promo at 1-utama was slightly better as more fans turned out for the event. =)

He sang a total of 3 songs in each promo session: 1) OMG I'm Crazy For You, 2) The One For Me, and 3) 直到永远 Zhi Dao Yong Yuan

Daniel's wide smile...

25th March @ Music Carnival 1-utama

I went to the promo alone and coincidentally Kyrina was there shopping with her mum. So, I dragged her to come to the event place and made her my 'photographer' for a while... hahaha

This was a shot she took while I stood in front of him waiting for my album to be signed.

and also this....

like like like!

Became a gila fangirl for a weekend and back to my normal (or can I say, boring) working life the next day...

Spongebob plaster art

Last weekend, I followed my sister & niece to hangout in Empire and this was what we did for kiddos hangout...

Where we went actually? It's none other than making some arts and crafts!

My niece was quite indecisive on what she wanted until she saw this cute little plaster Spongebob Squarepants! Priced at RM14.90, it's really quite reasonable for about an hour of fun with arts and paint for this girl.

I can see that she really adore this cartoon character when she put 100% effort in making sure that the outcome of her plaster art is perfect.

As for me, how I actually burn time while she's doing her art? Well, take picture and more pictures of the little girl lor... hehehe...

er... and also of the shop. =) One can also order some food and drinks while waiting for the kids to complete their stuff... As for us, we already had a really heavy lunch at The Vanilla Place before we stepped foot into this shop, so my sis and I just waited for Nisha to finish painting her Spongebob.

Ta-da...

This is the final outcome of the plaster art! It's really pretty good and neat for a 7-year old to paint this well I can say.!

Here's one more pic of my niece with her Spongebob before I conclude this entry...

A good way to start a brand new week and kick off the Monday blues away!

post 'music-man' syndrome

It has been almost a week since Music-man concert and I am still thinking that why it has ended so soon?!

Hence, I opened my picture folder for browsing even though its getting quite late and I have got to wake up early for work tomorrow! And then decided to edit them... and subsequently posting a few pics and share it here...

Taken at the airport for Leehom's departure from Kuala Lumpur the following day after his concert. Enjoy!! (for those of you that are interested... just ignore this post if you're not at all interested in drooling over his pics... hahahahaha)

Superstar reaching KLIA fashionably late.

rush rush rush over to the escalator for departure while police/ securities kinda 'open' a path for him to walk smoothly from the entrance to his destination...

briefly waving goodbye to the fans (including the fangirl that's typing at the moment *shy*)... then proceed to the escalator...

Queuing. Whether you're a star or not, still has to go through the imigression scan. The middle-aged lady carrying the backpack is Mrs Wang a.k.a Leehom's mum...

Music-man placing his backpack on the conveyor to go through the scanning...

Out from the other end. Waved us goodbye for the final time this trip....

...and off he goes back to his home, and us to our respective homes (to finally able to rest and sleeeep!) ... and my nightmare of falling sick came. Zzzzz

Gotta catch some sleep NOW for the final day of our 3-days finance training tomorrow!

Til then, ttfn!

Leehom Malaysia "Open Fire 火力全開" concert

The day has finally arrive for a much anticipated concert for Homaniacs! Weather forecast wasn't showing a good sign the previous week up to the concert day itself. We were frankly, quite worried about that actually.

KL area started to have downpour at about 3 to 4-ish in the evening and the rain finally stopped briefly before the start of the concert. Unfortunately, the good sign was interrupted about half an hour or so when the stupid rain continue to pour until the end of the night. *sigh*

Never mind, that didn't really matter as Music-man is here in town and we're all super excited about it! hahaha..

This is the 3rd show that I've watched for Music-man 2 tour and I've pretty much remembered which songs that he's about to perform during the concert. ^^ I wasn't really happy with our seating and curse myself for not buying the most expensive ticket for the show though.

Bad seating aside, this is the maximum zoom from my camera and I can only accept it by not condemning more on it. Look at the 'war' tank! I was really amazed at how all these expensive huge gadgets and instruments being shipped over from one country to another just for a show!

Leehom opened the show with the much anticipated Huo Li Quan Kai 火力全開!!

Performing The 18 Martial Arts together with the orchestra which opens up the huge LED screen at the stage.

After a few songs, the weather starter to turn and here comes the rain again. *sigh* The audience started to wear raincoat that was being distributed by the event organiser. I kept my camera aside and only took out the camera under my raincoat from time to time if I feel like capturing any 'moments' from the concert.

Ahh... This is the moment that I was waiting for! In Taipei, this unique looking piano was hung mid-air while he sang a series of his popular love songs. In KL, it's an open air stadium, so no mid air. BUT he came round at the VIP and OUR seating areas while performing songs like 你不知道的事 All Things You Never Knew, and Ai Cuo 愛錯.

Haha.. this is me when Leehom 'flew' over... Can only take picture from my lousy lowpixel phone as the security guards forbid me from taking picture using my DSLR. Damn the fella!

Note: Have you ever seen a Rela guy (security guard in picture) with a shit-head? Yeah, that's the idiot that blocked me from taking pic of Leehom. Ggrrr...

He weren't as daring in speaking out before performing Love Love Love this time. Just a brief who needs love? ya-da ya-da... Can't really remember what he said the rest, so I replaced with a ya-da ya-da... ^^

The crowd were not as loud as the previous concert we went in Taiwan maybe partly it's because of the open air stadium. Nonetheless, we still cheer as loudly as we can. I skipped taking pictures for his fast-beat songs coz I know it will be a waste of energy if I continue shooting in this lousy weather plus my super far seat.

Multi-talented Leehom as usual, will play a string of music instruments during a concert and this was no exception! First it was the piano, then violin, and now erhu!

He shines and glow even if it's raining! hahahaha...

This was no drizzle, the downpour is getting heavier and so is my head! =(

Like an emperor... hehe..

I think this robe is really cool! Finally a clearer picture of it when he turns his back to the audience... ^^

A collage of the animation from the big screen during 夢想被冷凍 Frozen Dreams.

Super luv this pic and I think so do my other friends.... Perfect timing capturing this moment but too bad it's a bit blur as I have to maximise my camera zoom...

改變自己 Change Me

Acapella time!

Same with previous concert in Taipei. He started off with 爱的就是你 (Ai De Jiu Shi Ni), 我們的歌 Our Song, 不可能錯過你 Impossible to Miss You, 公轉自轉 Revolution , 你是我心内的一首歌 You Are a Song in My Heart, 第一個清晨 The First Morning and Can You Feel My World

Due to the rain and the coat is wet, he tried and tried and tried wearing this coat but threw it aside in the end!

It was so funny as he really DID try wearing it for quite some time.

After the medley, Leehom went back in and a clip on World Vision was played when he went to Laos. The clip was really touching although it's not the first time we watch it.

This will be the highlight of the night for the audience at the back of the stadium. He rounds the whole stadium in a 'buggy' (I don't know what the thing is called, sorry) and let everyone had a good glimpse of him up-close!

Right after Forever Love, he invited a group of local primary school children to be on stage with him to perform Ai, Yin Wei Zai Xin Zhong. A song whereby his China fans has composed for him. =)

All good times will eventually come to an end when he went back in after singing 心中的日月 Shangri-la.

and then came back out for the Encore session....^^

Frankly, I wasn't very happy with this concert as the security is once again freaking strict. We couldn't even stand up for even one minute to enjoy the music with him!! How can that be when the few last songs are quite up-beat?!

Once my friends and I stood, we'll be forced to sit on our seat back again. It's really DUMB... We freaking PAID for this concert and yet we cannot fully enjoy it. I think I have said it once, this will be the second time (or more) I'm saying it again... Let us have fun coz we're paying so much for a gig!!!

Galaxy Entertainment, please take note of this!! It's really foolish of you to NOT let us enjoy... Yes, you are responsible for the security and what-nots as a whole, BUT we are good to take care of our own safety for goodness' sake!

Shit, I've let the event organiser ruined my mood when blogging about this once again. Will just conclude the entry with a pic of us then. hahahahha...

Us before the concert...
